رفح مدينة تقع على الحدود المصرية مع قطاع غزة ، كانت سابقاً منطقة واحدة ثم قسمت إلى منطقتين إحداها تتبع لمصر وأخرى ضمن قطاع غزة. وأكد أن نتنياهو يشتري الوقت باعتباره أهم أسلحة إسرائيل لإقامة منطقة عازلة شمالي القطاع، والمضي بخطط استبعاد وكالة الأونروا وترحيل السكان وإفراغ القطاع “لذلك يعمل على تأخير أو تعطيل الاتفاق حول الصفقة”. وذكر المسؤول المصري أن الوسطاء حققوا تقدما كبيرا “نسبيا” في مساعيهم، قبيل بدء اجتماع القاهرة. فقد نقلت صحيفة وول ستريت جورنال عن مسؤولين قولهم إن إسرائيل تريد هدنة مؤقتة بينما تطالب حماس بوقف إطلاق نار دائم. وترفض تل أبيب أيضا مطالب الحركة بالانسحاب الكامل من غزة، وفق المصادر نفسها.

القاهرة/القدس (رويترز) – يجتمع مسؤولون من الولايات المتحدة ومصر وإسرائيل وقطر في القاهرة يوم الثلاثاء في محاولة للتوصل إلى اتفاق هدنة في غزة مع تزايد الدعوات الدولية لإسرائيل للتراجع عن هجومها المزمع على مدينة رفح جنوب القطاع الفلسطيني. يقع نادي إم في الطابق الثامن عشر من برج الجزيرة داخل فندق ماريوت القاهرة. هو صالة خاصة جدًا ومعزولة مخصصة لرجال الأعمال والنزلاء المقيمين في طوابق الأعمال والنزلاء المؤهلين ببرنامج Marriott Bonvoy.

ويشمل المقترح في المرحلة الأولى أيضاً انسحاب القوات الإسرائيلية من المناطق المأهولة بالسكان في غزة، وبدء عملية لبناء المستشفيات ومخيمات اللاجئين. وبحسب ما نقلت وكالة رويترز، فإن مسودة مقترح حماس تضمنت وقفاً للقتال في المرحلة الأولى ومدتها forty five يوماً، يخلى خلالها جميع المحتجزات الإسرائيليات وكبار السن والمرضى والذكور دون سن 19 عاماً، مقابل النساء والأطفال الفلسطينيين المحتجزين في سجون إسرائيل. وتقول صحيفة نيويورك تايمز الأمريكية إن المفاوضات في القاهرة تركز على إطلاق سراح الرهائن مقابل وقف إطلاق النار. وتقول إسرائيل إنها تريد طرد مقاتلي حركة المقاومة الإسلامية (حماس) من مخابئهم في رفح وتحرير الرهائن الإسرائيليين المحتجزين هناك، وتخطط لإجلاء المدنيين الفلسطينيين المحاصرين. لكن لم توضع أي خطة، وتقول وكالات الإغاثة إن النازحين ليس لديهم مكان آخر يذهبون إليه في المنطقة المدمرة.
